Summary
To have full flexibility, Blent allows you to add data that cannot provided by your integrated systems. This article explains how to import such data.?
How to import manual data
To import your manual data in the correct format, follow the steps below:
- Export in the appropriate format
2. Complete your manual data in the Excel document
Open the file you just exported from Blent: each line represents a set of manual data.
Below is an example for the monthly format.
Be careful, there is an additional column (column C) that does not exist in the daily format.
- Column A: is the name of your manual data. Write down enough information so that you can recognize it later (e.g., different room categories, different restaurants, etc.).
- Column B: is the ID of the line. If you are adding a new line, leave it blank.
-
Column C: defines if we should divide the manual data by the number of days in this month or if it should apply that data to every day in that month. You will use a binary system to say if it is true or false. It can be filled with 0 or 1.
- 0 → False = Do not divide per day. The data should be applied to every day (e.g., ADR of 450 or occupancy of 70 should be applied to every single day of that month).
- 1 → True = Divide the data per day. This means that the data I enter is the data for the whole month, and it should therefore be divided by the number of days there are in that month (e.g., Room revenue of 30’000 for April, this means I get a daily room revenue of 1’000).
- Columns D to O: correspond to a month of the year (or a day) where you can insert your data. Please consider only figures, no text. This can prevent the file from being imported.
You can import only part of the year, rather than the full year. To do this, keep columns A to C unchanged. The remaining columns should correspond only to the months or days you want to import.
3. Import the document
Go back to Blent platform. Go to Your Data (click on your name of the top-right button and then on "Your Data"). Click on Import/Export by following step 1 again.
In the Import data part, choose the Excel file format and select the document you just filled out. Then click on Import and wait for the confirmation email.
You can now use this data in your reports by using the Manual data widget.
If the import fails, please control the excel file, to ensure there is no text in the period columns, no additional columns (like a total), before contacting your Customer Success Manager.
