The event feature is currently in Beta mode, and we are working on incorporating more options in the upcoming months. You can stay up-to-date by leaving a comment on the article to receive notifications about the new version's release.
We would greatly appreciate your feedback as it will help us tailor this tool to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
Why create events?
The event feature stands out as one of the most exciting new tools on the platform! By incorporating events, you can:
- Easily identify events added to your reports or dashboards when analyzing your data. Imagine reviewing last year's report to plan your orders or staff. How convenient is it to instantly see if there was an event that could have influenced your results? This is especially valuable in our sector, where we have high turnover rates.
- Effortlessly include or exclude events from your analysis. Want to look at your RevPar or average ticket for 2023 while focusing on regular business days? Simply utilize the filter to exclude specific events of your choice.
Here are some examples of events you can add to your calendar:
- High/low seasons
- National and international events and holidays
- Local occasions that may impact your business's performance (e.g., town festivals, nearby concerts, etc.)
- Internal occurrences, positive or negative, that may affect your KPIs (e.g., special promotions for certain dates, maintenance issues, etc.)"
You have the option to select a customized color scheme for your event, and we highly recommend agreeing upon a specific color code. This will allow for easy identification at a glance of whether the event is profitable or unprofitable financially.
How to upload a list of events
You may find the list of regional/national events online.
Please, be careful of those when filling out the document !
- Respect the date format of Excel
- Do not delete old events.
- For color, use the background option of Excel.
How to manually add an event
Did your ice machine break down? Was your location privatized, leading to unusually high ticket sales that skew other statistics? Easily create such events directly on Blent, enabling you to exclude them from your overall analysis.
How to see your events
Per default, you will see your events on all the widgets (dashboard) per day and in all the daily pickup reports.
Example of a widget :
If you want to see your event on your daily report just add a line with the widget List events (this widget will only appear if your report is on daily mode !). We recommend you to add it on top of your report for more clarity.
You also have two specific widgets for events
1. Count Event Days - In KPI for dashboard & Report
Count the number of days on which there is an event
2. List upcoming Events - In table mode for dashboard
List upcoming Events
You don't remember how to add a widget ? Follow this guide for report and this one for dashboard !
How to filter / focus on events
In almost all existing widgets you can find this option that allows you to exclude or filter per event (you can select one or multiple ones). Exist for reports and dashboards.
You don't find this option for the widget you need? Write us a request at support@blent.io
