In this article we are going to review the main widgets for restaurant revenue.
The best way to get familiar with the Restaurant revenue widgets is to start with the Classic KPI dashboard in the Blent collection.
For a report, you can add a new row by following this tutorial.
For a dashboard, you can add the new widget by following this tutorial.
For restaurant
Revenue from POS
We have two widgets to display the revenue from your POS.
The "Restaurant revenue based on tickets" will display the final amount on your ticket.
You can display it with or without tax (by default the revenue is displayed before tax);
You also have a lot of options to play with, but you can't filter by product/menu. For that one you need to use the "Restaurant revenue based on sales of specific items."
For this one, Blent recalculated the revenue item per item, and that allows you to filter by groups or item.
Example on a dashboard :
You may have a difference between revenue based on tickets & revenue based on specific items if you have a discount that's not linked to any item (it's not common, but it can happen, depending on your POS), so we suggest you always use the one based on ticket for your revenue report and use the other one to go more deep into analyze.
The "Restaurant tickets revenue based on payments" will allow you to filter by payment (visa, cash etc). Revenue displayed by this widget will always be After Taxes.
You can filter by or exclude one type of payment, and if you want to have the details line by line of the different types of payment, follow those few steps.
For Hotel
Revenue from PMS
The widget "Revenue based on PMS Transactions Code" can show you your F&B revenue. You can filter per type of revenue (all your F&B transaction code), per group or manually select one or multiple transaction code.
It's common for hotels to compare POS revenue with the F&B transactions code on their PMS that is supposed to match the POS, to make sure the ventilation is correct. You can even add an alert on the calculation line, so you get notification if someone misswrote one transaction.
